The Palm Coast City Council meets regularly to discuss and vote on official City business. These meetings are open to the public and Palm Coast residents are strongly encouraged to attend. An increase in public engagement helps to build a stronger sense of community, increases valuable discussions, and decreases division.
A worskshop meeting will take place beginning at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. No action will be taken during the workshop. Details of the items on the agenda are listed below.
- The Palm Coast Fire Department and the Flagler Department of Health will present an update on COVID-19 locally.
- The Information Technology Department will present options on live video streaming the City Council workshop meetings for Council’s consideration and direction. Options include relocating to the area previously setup for workshops in the back of the council chambers and adding video equipment, remaining at the dais for workshop meetings utilizing current equipment, or reconfiguring the room for the informal setting with a large space for the audience and adding audio equipment. Currently workshop meetings are audio-streamed only.
- The Human Resources Department will discuss preparations made thus far for the Request for Quote (RFQ) for an Executive Search Firm to fill the City Manager vacancy. Human Resources will seek direction from Council on the draft RFQ that has been prepared.
- The Parks and Recreation Department will present options for the 2022 Independence Day fireworks celebration. Traditionally the City has hosted the fireworks on July 3rd in Central Park but concerns arose after capacity was reached during the 2021 celebration. Parks and Rec will present two options for Council’s direction: Option 1 is to continue hosting the fireworks at Central Park; Option 2 is to partner with Flagler County and the Flagler Executive Airport to host the event at the airport.
- The Engineering Department will present findings from the previous six months of traffic studies and observations regarding the Slow Way road assessment. Staff will seek Council’s direction on passing the original ordinance presented on February 9, 2021 or not moving forward.
- The Stormwater and Engineering Department will present a bi-annual update on stormwater projects and infrastructure. The update will include progress on the Stormwater Master Plan.
- The Executive Team will provide an update and evaluation of the Strategic Action Plan. This update will go through all Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Focus Areas and Priorities adopted by the City Council in May of 2021. This will include a timeline and progress on each priority.

Public Comments will be opened at the beginning and end of the business meeting in accordance with Section 286.0114 Florida Statutes and pursuant to the City Council’s Meeting Policies and Procedures. Each speaker will approach the podium, provide his/her name and may speak for up to 3 minutes. Comment cards are available for contact information in order for staff to follow up with each speaker.
Meetings of the Palm Coast City Council typically occur three times per month. A 6 p.m. business meeting on the first Tuesday of the month, a 9 a.m. workshop meeting on the second Tuesday of the month, and a 9 a.m. business meeting on the third Tuesday of the month. All meetings take place in the Community Wing at City Hall at 160 Lake Avenue in Palm Coast.
