Palm Coast – The City of Palm Coast Utility Department is continuing to work on a utility system repair from 240 to 236 Parkview Drive and where it intersects with Persimmon Drive (southerly intersection).

The road has been closed in that area when work began on March 18 and will continue to be closed until at least until Friday, April 16. We will update the status accordingly.

Due to the depth of the repair and the amount of groundwater crews have been encountering, it has been necessary to install additional equipment and to perform the work necessary for this gravity sewer manhole and pipe replacement. Performing a repair at this depth and soil conditions, means additional work and time are necessary for dewatering to complete the work safely.

As originally stated, the work is necessary to reestablish a safe and secure roadway as well as to assure the sanitary sewer is performing as designed to prevent sewer backups in the area.

A message board along with signage will remain in the intersection to inform traffic of detours.

Residents will have access to their homes along with emergency vehicles.

Arrangements are being made for trash collection at the few homes where the road is inaccessible to Waste Pro trucks. Collection will remain on the same days.
