Palm Coast - It's likely that Lenny Grocki has helped hundreds, if not thousands of Utility customers in his career with the City of Palm Coast.

Grocki joined the City in January 2005 working with the water distribution system division construction crew. As time passed, he transferred to the water distribution system maintenance team and was promoted to Customer Service Technician.

Interacting with customers via smartphone or other electronic devices is the future, but for Lenny, he relishes with the customer-facing role, maintaining the personal connection between the City and its customers. And residents have noticed. He has been recognized on many occasions for going above and beyond to satisfy customers in a very polite and enthusiastic way.

Almost every day, Lenny keeps the team on task in a perfectly harmonious way ensuring that the work orders assign to him and others are finalized, staying late if needed to help with work order closeouts and just making sure that the team accomplishes the goals of the department. He does this every day with a smile on his face. We all hope that we can live up to his example and continue with our team in the same way.

Lenny has been an inspiration to us all with his unflagging optimism and team spirit.  Lenny keeps us all looking at the bright side of life.

On behalf of the entire City staff, we would like to congratulate Lenny Grocki on the next milestone in his life, his retirement. We all will miss his smiling face each morning and extend heart-felt best wishes.

His last day is Oct. 16, 2020.
