(Flagler County Sheriff's Office News Release) - With Memorial Day weekend on the horizon, Flagler County residents can expect to see an increased presence of FCSO patrol units throughout the weekend focusing on seatbelt, speed, and aggressive driving enforcement along with countywide DUI enforcement.
The newly re-launched Marine/Beach unit patrol boat and C.O.P. patrol boat will keep watch over the waterways to promote boater safety and deter Boating Under the Influence (BUI).
"You can spend your Memorial Day weekend with your friends and family or at the Green Roof Inn. It is up to you," Sheriff Rick Staly said. "If you drink and drive or boat, you will be arrested. We want everyone to have a safe Memorial Day weekend and remember the reason for the holiday. Choose your ride. Don't endanger yourself or others by driving or boating impaired."
The FCSO's Sheriff-Taxi will be parked on display around town along with message boards reminding everyone to "Choose Your Ride, Don't Drink and Drive." The Flagler County Sheriff's Office wishes to thank all veterans, active duty and our fallen heroes for their service this Memorial Day.
