Palm Coast - School may be out for the summer, but it's still a good time to aim for the aces on the tennis court!
There are several new programs for children in June and July that are either free or a small daily fee for court time.
During the entire month of June, the A's and Aces program allows children of grade school age to bring in their year-end report card to the Palm Coast Tennis Center, located at 1290 Belle Terre Pkwy, and receive one free play pass for each 'A' earned. Court space must be available. To check court availability or reserve space, call 386-986-2550, starting three days in advance.
Also new to the lineup is Learn 2 Play, which is free kids tennis lessons offered each Saturday in July at Holland Park, located at 18 Florida Park Dr. On July 6, 13, 20, and 27, children 7-10 years old can play from 9-10 a.m. Children 11 and older can play from 10-11 a.m. This activity is part of our July is Park and Rec Month celebration, so show your support by getting your "Game On!" at the tennis courts. Please register at www.parksandrec.fun/youth.
If your preschooler is showing an interest in tennis, Parks & Rec also offers the Tennis Tots program. This clinic engages children ages 3-5 and their parents with explorative activities that develop fundamental athletic and movement skills necessary for success in any sport. It is held Wednesdays, June 5-July 31 from 6-7 p.m. at the Palm Coast Community Center, located at 305 Palm Coast Pkwy NE. The fee is $10 per day. Register at www.parksandrec.fun/toddlers.
