Palm Coast - Are you ready for a recreational road trip? Palm Coast Parks & Recreation will offer monthly Discover Trips - fun day trips by motor coach to attractions such The Holy Land Experience and Port Canaveral.

The season kicks off Friday, Jan. 26, with a trip by motor coach to The Holy Land Experience in Orlando, and registration is now open. The Holy Land Experience is a living, biblical museum and park that brings the world of the Bible to life!

Participants will meet at Palm Coast City Hall, 160 Lake Ave., Palm Coast, at 8:30 a.m. and return at about 5:30 p.m. The cost is $80 and includes motor coach transportation, admission and lunch on-site. Registration is required by Jan. 19 (while space is available) at www.palmcoastgov.com/register or at Frieda Zamba Pool, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast.

Other upcoming Discover Trips are:

  • Friday, Feb. 23 - Cedar Lakes Woods and Garden and Two Tails Elephant Ranch. There will be two stops on this trip to Williston. Attendees will receive a description and history of Cedar Lakes Woods and Garden and a self-guided tour through 20 acres of botanical creations. At Two Tails, take a guided tour to see the elephants and other animals including zebras, tortoises, an ostrich and emu. The day will include a stop at Ivy House for lunch at the participant's own expense. The trip will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. from City Hall. The cost is $60. Register by Feb. 16 (while space is available) at www.palmcoastgov.com/register or at Frieda Zamba Pool.

  • Friday, March 23 - Canaveral Locks Boat Tour and Exploration Tower. Enjoy a 2-hour boat tour on the Banana River, leaving from Kelly Park to the Barge Canal on Merritt Island, then through Canaveral Locks to tour Port Canaveral, one of the busiest cruise ports in the world. Participants will see a great variety of wildlife such as birds, dolphins, manatees and the alligators. Also visit the Exploration Tower at the port, with galleries and interactive exhibits. Lunch at Dixie Crossroads will be at the participant's own expense. The trip will be 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from City Hall. The cost is $75. Register by March 16 (while space is available) at www.palmcoastgov.com/register or at Frieda Zamba Pool.

The registration fee for Discover Trips includes round-trip, motor-coach transportation to and from the destination and admission fees for the attraction. Payment is due at time of registration. Lunch during the trips is typically at the participant's own expense; however, lunch is included in the price for the Jan. 26 trip to The Holy Land Experience.
