Toddlers and preschoolers will have the chance to make new friends and learn while having fun at a variety of Palm Coast Parks & Recreation winter/spring programs - some old favorites and some new offerings.
Registration is now open through the City's new, easy-to-use Civic Rec online registration program. Sign up today at www.palmcoastgov.com/register.
Space is limited, so be sure to register early. The deadline for registration is 48 hours before the start of the program, while space is available. For planning purposes, please register even if the program is free of charge.
Here's an overview of our programs for our lil' residents:
Nature Nut Series - Now free of charge! Parents can join their preschoolers (ages 2-5) twice a month for this fun way to learn about animals and the environment. There will be story time, crafts and a fun activity about animals.
Nature Nuts will be 9-10 a.m. Mondays, Jan. 8 and 22; Feb. 5 and 19; and March 5, at Linear Park, 31 Greenway Court (off Colbert Lane between the two directions of Palm Coast Parkway), Palm Coast.
Munchkin' Creations - Children 2-5 with their parents will learn to make their own snack while also creating a unique piece of art at this monthly program. Each week will feature different art techniques such as painting, stamping, gluing, cutting and assembling. Children will also make their own snack to enjoy while practicing stirring, measuring and spreading. There is an $8 fee for supplies.
Munchkin' Creations will be held on Tuesdays from 10-11 a.m. at Frieda Zamba Pool classroom, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast. Dates are: Jan. 9, Feb. 13, March 13, April 10 and May 8.
Teddy Bear Picnic - There are two schedule options for the popular Teddy Bear Picnic in the New Year - Saturdays or Mondays. Children ages 2-5 (with their parents) will bring their favorite teddy bear for story time, game playing or craft and a snack.
This is a free program that will be held 10-10:30 a.m. at two parks in Palm Coast. The schedule is:

Musical Munchkins - This child-with-parent class for preschoolers 2-5 is an introduction to music, rhythm and movement that will give your child the chance to try various instruments. Watch your child shake, rattle and jingle as they express themselves through music. Each class will have a different theme. The class is taught by Jennifer Baker, occupational therapist and owner of Kascel Therapy LLC.
Musical Munchkins will be held on Thursday mornings 10-11 a.m. from Jan. 11 through March 1 and again March 22 through May 10 at Frieda Zamba Pool classroom. The program is free of charge.
Creepy Crawlies Series - For our adventurous little ones, kids 2-5, with their parents, can learn all about their favorite spiders, centipedes, worms, earwigs and other crawlies. Creepy Crawlies will be held on Wednesday afternoons and evenings at Linear Park. This program is free of charge.
The class schedule is: 4-5 p.m. OR 5:30-6:30 p.m. Jan. 17, Jan. 31, Feb. 14, Feb. 28 and March 14.
