The first Flagler County PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) project has been funded by the Florida PACE Funding Agency (Agency) through its innovative financing program, E|VEST Florida. The Agency provided financing helping homeowner Jill Trecki (Palm Coast) replace her old central air conditioning system with a more efficient one and increase the safety of her home with a code-compliant roof replacement. The work was completed by Flagler County Heating & Air (Palm Coast) and EZ Roofing Systems (Winter Haven), and was financed through the E|VEST Florida program.

"The PACE program is truly a blessing in our community," said Trecki.  "I would not have been able to have the roof and air conditioning replaced without them. I was told that the program was complicated, but later found out it was quite easy and I am so happy that I followed through with it. I would recommend this program to anyone who needs help."

Flagler County Heating and Air Conditioning (FCHAC) is the leading provider of commercial, residential and industrial air conditioning and commercial refrigeration in the Palm Coast, Flagler County.

"The PACE program was easy to use," said FCHAC Operations Manager Dan Gouldner. "It was simply a matter of providing some information on the equipment and checking some boxes. Agency staff was helpful and responsive throughout the process.  We look forward to working with the Agency in the future."

The Agency is proud to offer PACE financing as a voluntary option to residential and commercial property owners in subscribing Florida jurisdictions, currently including Flagler and 12 other counties and 5 cities, to fund energy efficiency, renewable generation and wind mitigation improvements. Property owners like Trecki who take advantage of the Agency's E|VEST program have the option to finance needed repairs or improvements to their homes and businesses, such as roofing systems, windows and doors, storm shutters, air conditioning, lighting, water heaters, insulation and even solar energy projects. The financing is repaid through an assessment placed on the annual property tax bill.

Subscription to the Agency's E|VEST Program is without cost or liability, and easily initiated through a city or county commission resolution authorizing an interlocal agreement with the Agency. Local government officials interested in subscribing should visit www.FloridaPACE.gov. Interested residential and commercial property owners and contractors should visit the Agency's Program website, www.EvestFlorida.com for more information.
