Gerard (Jerry) Forte - Fire Chief
Deputy Chief Forte has been with the Palm Coast Fire Department since July, 1990 as a volunteer firefighter and hired as a career member on September 28, 1992, as a Firefighter/EMT. He has held the position of Captain from 1998 to 2009 and Deputy Chief from 2009 to 2018. He currently provides direction as the Fire Chief, managing work that is public safety orientated in the protection of life and property.
In 2016, Chief Forte has received Chief Fire Officer Designation from the Commission on Professional Credentialing. He graduated in May, 2009 with a Master’s in Arts of Public Policy; in December, 2005 with a Bachelors degree in Public Administration from Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, and an Associate of Fire Science degree with honors from Daytona Beach Community College. He has attended the Florida State Fire College and the State University of New York with credits in Criminal Justice. This year, Deputy Chief Forte has applied for and is awaiting confirmation of a Chief Fire Officer designation from the Commission on Professional Credentialing.
He holds numerous Florida State Certifications and is a member of the Florida Fire Chiefs Association. In 2002, He was honored with the Training Officer of the Year Award by the State of Florida through the Florida Fire Chiefs Association.
Beyond the Department, Chief Forte is a valued employee to the City overall. He has a key role on the City Special events Review Team, which oversees the advance safety planning for all special events in Palm Coast. He has been part of the City Leadership in Training Excellence program, (LITE team) where, in 2013, he was the leader of the Performance Measures Team overseeing the City-wide process of carrying out the City Council’s goals and objectives. In 2014, he became the leader of the Performance Evaluation team to develop a performance evaluation process that helps achieve the mutual success of the employee and the organization and ensure council goals are met.
Jerry is a dedicated son, loving husband to Lisa, proud father to Jessica, Anthony, Lia and Olivia and a spoiling grandfather to Eva, Lorenzo and Giana.
Bradd Clark - Deputy Fire Chief
Bradd Clark’s career span has several positions in the fire service. Some of his past Fire Service Experience includes former Fire Chief of Ocala Fire and Rescue: former Fire Chief of the Sand Springs Fire Department in Sand Springs, Oklahoma; former Fire Chief of the Owasso Fire Department in Owasso, Oklahoma; and the former Fire Marshal for the City of Stillwater, Oklahoma. He has also been employed as an adjunct professor for Oklahoma State University in the School of Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology and in the Fire and Emergency Management Program. He has also completed the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy and is the first Chief Fire Officer designee in the State of Oklahoma from the Commission on Chief Fire Officer Designation. He began his fire service career in Poquoson, Virginia, in 1984. Bradd has participated as chair/delegate on many IFSTA committees. He now is part of the Cities Palm Coast Fire Department as Deputy Chief.
