Lifeguard

The City of Palm Coast is gearing up for the season.  We are presently seeking Lifeguards to join our team.  Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to ensure the safety of patrons at the City's public swimming facility. Employees in this classification perform at entry staff level and are responsible for monitoring various swimming activities as well as assisting with special activities. Employee assists in maintaining pool and surrounding facility area. Objective is to ensure safety and general welfare of the general public engaging in all swimming activities through guarding and instructing patrons. Current enrollment in High School or GED program required, High School Diploma or GED from accredited school PREFERRED; supplemented by a demonstrated ability to perform the physical requirements of the position; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain current American Red Cross or nationally recognized lifeguard certification, CPR and First Aid Certification, AED for the professional and must demonstrate the ability to swim 200 yards freestyle in under three (3) minutes; Water Safety Instructor Certification (WSI) Preferred.

Maintenance Worker, E01 or E011

The City of Palm Coast is currently seeking a Maintenance Worker, EO1 or EO11 to join our Public Works/Parks Facilities Maintenance Division.  All positions perform work related duties to include the installation, maintenance and repair of the City infrastructure development and public properties management.  Specific areas of specialization include; maintenance, groundskeeping, landscape, and parks maintenance.

Maintenance Worker - Must possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in grounds keeping and or general maintenance.  $14.57 - $16.20 p/h.

Equipment Operator 1 - Must possess (11) months experience and operates light to heavy equipment and the ability to perform labor intensive work within difficult environmental conditions to include frequent lifting, pulling and pushing of 50 lbs. Must possess a Class "B" CDL license. $15.68 - $17.30 p/h.

Equipment Operator 11 - Must possess (3) years of light and heavy equipment operating experience including but not limited to operation of backhoe, front end loader, excavator, skid steer, gradall, etc. Must have the ability to perform labor intensive work within difficult environmental conditions to include frequent lifting, pulling and pushing of 50 lbs.  Must possess a Class "A" CDL license.  $16.72 - $18.60 p/h.

All positions require a high school diploma or a GED.  Must possess a valid Florida's driver's license .  All positions require experience in maintenance, grounds keeping, landscape, irrigation and parks maintenance.

Applications Analyst

The Application Analyst maintains existing software applications to conform to changing user requirements. They analyze business practices to educate and assist users in utilizing systems to improve practices. The Application Analyst provides user training on new or existing data application functions and data processing procedures. The Application Analyst assists users by providing technical support in response to incidents pertaining to assigned applications. The Application Analyst coordinates with vendors to provide vendor level support of applications as necessary. The Applications Analyst is expected to perform as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on their assigned applications.

The Application Analyst participates in projects as they pertain to the deployment, modification, update, or retirement of the City's application inventory. The Application Analyst participates in planning sessions, evaluates impact of proposed changes, coordinates with city departments, collaborates with IT peers and provide subject matter expertise to the projects. They participate in the deployment of new applications, modifications to current applications and the retirement of applications when necessary.

Associate's Degree with major course work in Management Information Systems, Computer Technology, Computer Science or related field; supplemented by two (2) years knowledgeable and skilled experience in enterprise level applications analysis and support, including testing, debugging and maintaining various applications and technologies. A strong understanding of relational databases and data analysis is required, specifically MS SQL and Reporting Services. Must possess and maintain a Florida Driver's License.

Tennis Instructor

Plans Examiner
Under direction, the purpose of the position is to review and analyze construction plans and specifications for permitted construction projects, to include structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and engineering construction of residential, commercial and multi-family construction for compliance of appropriate building codes regulating building construction, alterations and repairs. Essential functions include reviewing various records, plans, specifications, and documentation relating to plans review for residential, commercial and multi-family construction for conformance with the Florida Building Code, and other national and local codes and ordinances.

Applicant must possess and maintain a Standard Certificate as a plans examiner with single and double endorsement in trade of choice to include building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and one and two family dwelling, as approved by the Building Official, issued by the Florida Building Code Administration and Inspection Board as well as previous experience in the completion of plans examining.  Associate's Degree with major course work in engineering or architecture and five (5) yrs. exp. as a contractor or superintendent of construction; or an equivalent combination of training and experience required.  Prefers candidates with (7) yrs. exp.  Must possess or obtain, a valid Florida Driver's License.

Instructor

City of Palm Coast is currently seeking an Instructor to join our Parks & Recreation team.   Under direction, the purpose of the position is to organize, supervise and lead leisure learning programs and activities. Employees in this classification perform at entry staff level.  We recruit instructors to teach a wide variety of classes that provide local residents with positive recreational experiences.  Work includes developing and delivering age appropriate curricula and ensuring the overall safe and efficient delivery of assigned programs provided by the City. Building Inspector

Chief Accountant

Under executive direction, the purpose of the job is to perform highly complex accounting work according to generally accepted accounting principles, established procedures, departmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements applicable to the work.  An employee in this job classification functions in a management capacity to supervise accounting professionals, and entry level accounting and support staff to ensure the accomplishment of assigned functions according to established schedules, calendars, projects, and programs of the department.  Work includes researching and collecting highly complex data, preparing clear and concise financial reports, and monitoring expenditures and revenues of assigned divisions and/or departments.  Responsible for the completion of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR), which includes a significant amount of account analysis at year-end including preparation and review of audit schedules and implementation of new accounting principles as required by the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB).  Performs highly technical, professional, analytical work of considerable difficulty in the preparation, analysis, and monitoring of the City's budget.   Performs related work as directed.

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field; supplemented by seven (7) years progressively responsible experience in municipal and business accounting and budget administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.  Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License. 

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Government Finance Officer (CGFO) preferred or ability to obtain certification within three years of date of hire.
