Project Specialist or Senior Project Specialist

Under direction, the purpose of the position is to perform a broad variety of technical design, inspection and supervision in support of the City's street storm drainage and construction development activities. Employees in this classification perform at entry professional level and are responsible for executing and coordinating surveying and inspection functions. Position is responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal, state and local codes and standards and contractual provision. The employee is expected to exercise considerable judgment and initiative in the performance of job duties.

Project Specialist requirements

Applications Analyst

The Application Analyst maintains existing software applications to conform to changing user requirements. They analyze business practices to educate and assist users in utilizing systems to improve practices. The Application Analyst provides user training on new or existing data application functions and data processing procedures. The Application Analyst assists users by providing technical support in response to incidents pertaining to assigned applications. The Application Analyst coordinates with vendors to provide vendor level support of applications as necessary. The Applications Analyst is expected to perform as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on their assigned applications.

The Application Analyst participates in projects as they pertain to the deployment, modification, update, or retirement of the City's application inventory. The Application Analyst participates in planning sessions, evaluates impact of proposed changes, coordinates with city departments, collaborates with IT peers and provide subject matter expertise to the projects. They participate in the deployment of new applications, modifications to current applications and the retirement of applications when necessary.

Associate's Degree with major course work in Management Information Systems, Computer Technology, Computer Science or related field; supplemented by two (2) years knowledgeable and skilled experience in enterprise level applications analysis and support, including testing, debugging and maintaining various applications and technologies. Mechanical Technician 1 or 2

Under supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform a wide range of moderately complex pump-mechanical and electrical trades work in the maintenance and repair of utilities treatment plants, equipment, peripheral components, and collection systems. 

Mechanical Technician 1

Position will repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes and various rotating equipment of all sizes and types; with proper equipment, must be able to test motors for continuity.  Must have one (1) year responsible experience in public utilities or other large scale commercial pumping systems, motors and electrical equipment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required. Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver's license with the ability to obtain a class "B" commercial driver's license and tank truck endorsement within six (6) months. Must be available for emergency call back and rotating call duty. $15.30 p/h.

Utility System Technician 1 

Employees in this classification function at entry level, and are accountable for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the assigned lift stations and various facilities.  Routine tasks are performed with some independence, and work that is more difficult is performed under direct supervision. Objective is to maintain utility systems and facilitate safe and efficient transporting of water/wastewater throughout the City. Must have one (1) year experience in public utilities or other large scale commercial plumbing systems, and the ability to operate heavy equipment and tools of the trade; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.  General construction experience may be considered.  $14.22 p/h.

Utility System Technician 2 

Employees in this classification function at journey level, and are accountable for operating, maintaining and performing minor repairs on utility vehicles and equipment.  Position is distinguished from that of the Utility Systems Technician I, by the level of independence the employee functions in, as a result of the advanced laboring knowledge acquired through training and work experience.  Objective is to maintain utility systems and facilitate safe and efficient transporting of water/wastewater throughout the City. 2) Years' experience in public utilities or other large scale commercial plumbing systems, basic electrical knowledge and the ability to operate heavy equipment and tools of the trade; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.  $15.81 p/h.

Where applicable, must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License. FDEP Level III License in water distribution OR FWPCOA Class C certification in Wastewater collection.

Maintenance Worker, Equipment Operator 1 or Equipment Operator 2

The City of Palm Coast has a variety of positions available in our Public Works/Parks Facilities Maintenance Department.  All positions perform work related duties to include the installation, maintenance and repair of the City infrastructure development and public properties management.  Specific areas of specialization include maintenance, landscape & irrigation and parks maintenance.

Maintenance Worker - Must possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in grounds keeping and or general maintenance.  $14.22 p/h.

Equipment Operator 1 - Must possess (11) months experience and operates light to heavy equipment and the ability to perform labor intensive work within difficult environmental conditions to include frequent lifting, pulling and pushing of 50 lbs. Must possess a Class "B" CDL license. $15.30 p/h.

Equipment Operator 2 - Must possess (3) years of light and heavy equipment operating experience including but not limited to operation of backhoe, front end loader, excavator, skid steer, gradall, etc. Must have the ability to perform labor intensive work within difficult environmental conditions to include frequent lifting, pulling and pushing of 50 lbs.  Must possess a Class "A" CDL license.  $16.32 p/h.

Tennis Instructor

Plans Examiner
Under direction, the purpose of the position is to review and analyze construction plans and specifications for permitted construction projects, to include structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and engineering construction of residential, commercial and multi-family construction for compliance of appropriate building codes regulating building construction, alterations and repairs. Landscape Architect

Building Inspector
