Our Parks & Recreation Department is gearing up for the summer season! Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to ensure the safety of patrons at the City's public swimming facility. Employees in this classification perform at entry staff level and are responsible for monitoring various swimming activities as well as assisting with special activities. Employee assists in maintaining pool and surrounding facility area. Objective is to ensure safety and general welfare of the general public engaging in all swimming activities through guarding and instructing patrons. Prefers candidates with a High School Diploma or GED or currently enrolled in High School; supplemented by a demonstrated ability to perform the physical requirements of the position; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain current American Red Cross or nationally recognized lifeguard certification, CPR, and First Aid Certifications. AED for the professional and Water Safety Instructor Certifications are Preferred. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age upon hire.
