City Safety Coordinator

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to support city staff and our community with all aspects of safety and training.  Provides administration of various departmental projects that specifically relate to safety programs for the City.  Employees in this position function at a paraprofessional level to accomplish assigned functions according to an established schedule, calendars, projects, and programs of the Human Resource department.  Primary responsibility is to maintain and serve as the first point of contact for safety concerns, oversee safety programs, active training, emergency service management liaison, and support departments as required.  Work requires exercising considerable independent judgment and initiative in developing program components, and effectively presenting information to individuals and groups.  Bachelor's Degree preferred in Business or Public Administration or related field.  Knowledge of safety protocols, risk management, codes, statutes, and regulations concerning city operations. Experience in safety and training programs preferred.  Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.  The City provides Health, Dental, Vision, Life, Long-term/Short-term Disability Insurance, Retirement benefits, Sick leave, Annual leave and fourteen paid holidays.  Exempt employees recieve forty hours of paid leave upon hire.
