Utility System Operator or Trainee

Our Utility Department, Water division is seeking a Water Treatment Plant Operator or Trainee to join their team! Under general supervision of the Chief and Lead Operator, the purpose of the position is to perform technical work in the operation of a water treatment plant and auxiliary facilities on an assigned shift.  Performs quality control lab tests and other analysis, monthly regulatory reports and minor adjustments and repairs to plant equipment. This position requires close attention to detail, the ability to work alone on an assigned shift and in a team environment.  This person is responsible to maintain a clean safe work environment in the water treatment facility. Applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds, have a strong work ethic, and climb ladders and stairs on a routine basis. High School Diploma or GED required. FLDEP Drinking water certification or completion of an approved FDEP resident course in the study of water treatment plant operation is preferred.
