The Parks & Recreation Department inaugurated the City's first tree lighting ceremony in December 2011. A beautiful tree at the entrance of Central Park in Town Center (originally donated to the City by the Palm Coast Garden Club) is decorated each year and the community is invited to gather around the tree to share this Palm Coast tradition during the holiday season. Santa arrives on a City fire truck and live music and refreshments round out an evening of family fun. Additionally, the Flagler County Rotary opens their Annual Fantasy Lights Festival on the same evening of the ceremony. Families can tour the park and enjoy a variety of sparkling holiday light displays, each sponsored by clubs, organizations, businesses and residents. The Tree Lighting Ceremony has become a treasured family memory, pulling the entire community together to celebrate holidays in our City.
