Palm Coast, FL - Imagine the twang of a banjo and a blissful three-part harmony, accompanied by a lively fiddle, acoustic guitar and stand-up string bass wafting throughout a pristine natural preserve with a backdrop of water and centuries old live oaks. This is the experience that brings thousands of guests, including bluegrass fans and families, to Princess Place Preserve each fall for the annual Creekside Festival. Now in its 13th year, the Creekside Festival will strum back into Flagler County Saturday, November 11th and Sunday, November 12th as a favorite community tradition brought to you by the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce and presenting sponsor VyStar Credit Union.
For just $7 per vehicle per day, you can experience live music on two stages, shop handmade art and crafts vendors, play in the kids' zone, watch old-time blacksmith demonstrations, take a hay ride, tour a historic hunting lodge or enjoy a cold beverage in the beer garden. And you won't go hungry at the festival - there's a wide selection of food vendors whether you're looking for a snack, meal or treat.
A new addition to this year's festival is a scarecrow-decorating contest to support the United Way Women's Initiative of Flagler County's Chicks with Cans. For a $10 donation, your team of five people can decorate a scarecrow by personalizing it however you see fit with items from home. (Learn more and download the application here.) First, second and third place winners will be announced Saturday at 4PM. The contest is limited to 25 teams so submit your entry form before the November 4 deadline.
And, of course, there will be live music -- both days from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on two stages. The lineup can be found here. There's bluegrass on the main stage, including Sunday's headliner Grandpa's Cough Medicine, and folk music on the barn stage thanks to organizers of the Gamble Rogers Folk Festival.
There's plenty for younger guests to enjoy in the kids' zone, sponsored once again this year by Florida Hospital Care Advantage and For Any Event, LLC. Here you will find face painting, inflatable slides, bounce houses, a train ride and much more!
The Creekside Festival will be open Saturday, November 11 from 10AM to 5PM and Sunday, November 12 from 10AM to 4PM. Visit www.flaglerchamber.org or call 386.437.0106 for more information.
