March 6, 13, 20 - Women's Self Defense - Three-week class on consecutive Mondays, March 6, 13 and 20, 6-8 p.m. The March 6 class will be at Palm Coast City Hall, 160 Lake Ave., and the other two classes will be at Frieda Zamba Pool classroom, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast. Women, ages 12+, learn effective methods to ward off attackers from Sgt. Michael Lutz of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. March 11 - First Aid and CPR/AED - Saturday, March 11, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Frieda Zamba Swimming Pool classroom 339 Parkview Ave., Palm Coast. This class is a 7-hour course (one hour for lunch) designed to meet OSHA regulations and teach administering CPR to children and adults, using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), using a mask or barrier device, assisting with bleeding, broken bones. $5/person with pre-registration required by 9 a.m. March 9. March 21 - AARP Driver Safety Program - Tuesday, March 21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Frieda Zamba Pool Classroom, 339 Parkview Drive, Palm Coast. The nation's first and largest classroom course for motorists ages 50 and older. This one-day course identifies ways that older drivers can compensate for the physical changes that occur as they age and helps older drivers update their driving knowledge and skills. Now through April 15: AARP Tax Assistance - The AARP Tax-Aide program has nearly 32,000 volunteers staffing 8,500 sites across the United States. These IRS certified volunteers provide free tax counseling and preparation service to low- and middle-income taxpayers, with special attention to those ages 60 and older. At its core, woodcarving transforms a piece of wood into a masterfully crafted work of art. Join this group of gifted carvers as they share their skill and know-how in this informal teaching atmosphere. The woodcarving group is a mixed group of men and women at all levels and abilities.
