Palm Coast - City of Palm Coast employees have gotten into the holiday spirit through a variety of friendly competitions such as office-decorating, ugly sweaters and cookie-baking contests.
Employees also put their competitiveness to good purpose - by collecting non-perishable food items for neighbors in need. The food drive was organized by the City's BAM (Boosting All Morale) Team, and the canned, boxed and bagged foods collected were weighed by department.
This week, 1,426 pounds of food were donated to the Grace Community Food Pantry! The Community Development Department, which includes the Building, Planning, Construction Management & Engineering, and Code Enforcement divisions, led the way with the donation of 307 pounds of food.
One in six adults in Florida - 2.5 million people - are hungry or food-insecure, and the Grace Community Food Pantry helps fill that gap for Flagler County residents who demonstrate financial need through a simple application. The food pantry is located at 245 Education Way (off U.S. 1) in Bunnell.
