Brittany McDermott, Community Recreation Manager

Palm Coast - Palm Coast Parks & Recreation invites everyone to Explore, Connect, and Play in Palm Coast in honor of July is Parks and Recreation Month. This month recognizes the vital contributions of Parks & Recreation employees and volunteers. These dedicated supporters keep parks clean and safe for residents, organize activities for all ages, and enhance our community.

This year's Parks and Recreation Month looks a little different than years' past. Events will be offered either virtually or in-person with safety precautions in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Regardless, we encourage the community to join in on the fun.

The featured events include:

Youth Fishing Tournament (virtual) - Youth 17 and under are encouraged to participate in our virtual fishing tournament through July 19. Awesome prize packs made possible by Young Outfitters, LLC and are available to winners in the following categories: longest fish, shortest fish, most interesting catch, and most fish caught. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Any adult actively assisting a child must have a fishing license. Go fishing in any saltwater permitted by law in Flagler County and submit a picture and details about your catch at: www.palmcoastconnect.com/s/youth-fishing-tournament.

Food Truck Tuesday- Purchase and enjoy delicious cuisine available from food trucks situated along Park Street July 21 from 5-8 p.m. located at Central Park in Town Center, 975 Central Ave, Palm Coast. Proceeds this month will support Parks & Recreation youth camp scholarships. Grab-and-go style is encouraged to limit gatherings.

Tour de Palm Coast (virtual) - Join us virtually on July 25 for a bike ride along a portion of the Palm Coast Arts Foundation turtle trail. A digital map will be available for participants to take a self-guided ride of the Tour de Palm Coast route.
