Palm Coast - The City of Palm Coast is excited to announce Renina Fuller, SHRM-CP, has joined the team Monday, May 18 as the new Human Resources Director.
Fuller has more than 20 years of experience in both the public and private sector in areas such as administrative duties, payroll, training, budgets, benefits, performance management, employee relations, recruiting and public policy.
"We are coming together as a new team and we will be working together to make a difference to our employees and the community we serve," Fuller said.
Her most recent position has been the Director of Human Resources with the City of New Smyrna Beach since June of 2019. There, she celebrated numerous achievements including the design of a new on-boarding and new hire orientation process; implementation of employee programs that recognize fellow coworkers, and a lunch and learn series to educate employees on retirement and financial health. Some of her other responsibilities also included conducting diversity training, incorporating new benefits for employees and working with three labor unions to negotiate contracts.
Prior to that, she served the citizens of Flagler County as the Director of Human Resources for the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. In that role, Fuller was involved in the development of human resources philosophies, policy and strategic planning; organizing open enrollment; ensuring compliance; managing benefits and compensation; and enhancing labor relations. She worked at the sheriff's office for seven years.
Fuller also held human resources and management positions in the private sector for law firms, a car manufacturer, and retail bookstore corporation handling a plethora of functions relating to employee relations, payroll, recruitment and protection of company policy.
"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Renina Fuller to the position of Human Resources Director," said City Manager Matthew Morton. "Ms. Fuller brings a tremendous wealth of education, experience and professionalism to the City of Palm Coast. Renina has the distinction of being accredited through the Society for Human Resource Management. I am encouraged by her professionalism, experience level and commitment to the Palm Coast community. I know she will make a great addition to the City team and has much to contribute."
In addition to experience, Fuller holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Flagler College and has a master's degree from Barry University. She is also a SHRM Certified Professional through the Society for Human Resource Management and a licensed realtor in the state of Kentucky. On top of public service, she has participated in numerous community service initiatives through organizations including Family Promise, Richmond Place, and Hope Center - all in Kentucky where Fuller is originally from.
She was born and raised in eastern Kentucky and later moved to Lexington. The Fuller family then moved to Palm Coast in 2011 to be closer to family and live by water.
With a passion for working with people, she is excited for the opportunity to give back to the community, serve her neighbors and be part of the work that helps make Palm Coast a great place to live, work, and play.
