Palm Coast - Following the phased approach detailed in Governor DeSantis' "Safe. Smart. Step-by-Step. Plan for Florida's Recovery," the City of Palm Coast is pleased to announce further openings of our recreational amenities.
The following recreational amenities will open with limitations starting Monday, May 18.
The following recreational amenities and active sports parks remain closed due to limited space to practice physical distancing.
Precautions have been put into place to maintain safe and clean conditions in these facilities, including daily employee temperature and health checks, personal protective equipment for all employees, an increased cleaning and sanitation schedule, and reduced capacities. Please continue to stay physically distant, maintain crowds of less than 10 people, and wear cloth masks or face coverings whenever possible. At-risk individuals should remain at home as often as possible.
"Your City has been diligent in proceeding to this point because the safety of this community is our highest priority," said Mayor Milissa Holland. "I am excited that our residents will once again be able to enjoy our premier amenities, like the Palm Harbor Golf Club and Palm Coast Tennis Center. Let's continue to be safe and respectful of our fellow community members as we get back into our routines. I hope that our residents will take comfort in returning to some of their favorite activities."
"We appreciate the City of Palm Coast's approach to re-opening recreational activities," said Bob Snyder, Administrator for the Florida Department of Health-Flagler. "Decisions for opening up the golf course and tennis center are being made in a cautious, deliberate manner and from a public health perspective."
"We want to give people their lives back, but it's our responsibility to keep the spread of this disease under control the best we can," said Dr. Stephen Bickel, Medical Director for the Florida Department of Health-Flagler. "People need to remain conscientious about wearing masks, social distancing and frequent hand washing."
We will continue to update you on the latest recommendations from the Department of Health, Emergency Management and the Governor. As always, please continue to follow the latest CDC guidelines at CDC.gov.
