M.C. Beadle - Fire Chief
Mike Beadle has been the Fire Chief for the City of Palm Coast since 1999. He originally joined the District 2 Flagler County Palm Coast Fire Department in 1988 as a volunteer. Upon completion of his Florida Fire Standards and Emergency Medical Technician training he became a full time firefighter in 1990. In 1991 he had already attained the position of Shift Commander/Captain. By 1999 he was named acting chief and upon incorporation of the City he was named Chief of the Palm Coast Fire Department.
With more than 36 years experience as a firefighter, and a certified law enforcement officer in the state of New Jersey, Chief Beadle has a vast history and knowledge of firefighting and administrative duties.
Chief Beadle's academic credentials include an AS degree in Fire Science, a Bachelors in Organizational Management and a Masters degree in Public Administration. He graduated from four year program with the National Fire Academy in the Executive Officer's Program. He has recently been awarded Chief Fire Officer designation by the International Fire Chief's Association.
Gerard (Jerry) Forte - Deputy Fire Chief
Jerry Forte has been with the City of Palm Coast Fire Department since 1999. He originally joined the District 2 Flagler County Palm Coast Fire Department in 1990 as a Volunteer. After completion of his State of Florida Fire Standards Certification and Emergency Medical Technician, became a full time firefighter in 1992. By 1998, he attained the position of Captain responsible for the operation of "B" Shift. In 2009, he was promoted to Deputy Fire Chief; he provides operational direction under the Fire Chief and creates departmental programs, manages work that is public safety orientated in the protection of life and property.
With more than 22 years of experience in the field of fire suppression, he attained Fire Service Instructor of the Year in 2002 by the Florida State Fire Chief’s Association. He graduated from Daytona Community College in May of 2001 with an Associate's Degree in Fire Science. In December, He received a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Management from Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, Florida. He achieved a Masters in the Art of Public Policy from New England College in May, 2009.
