Utility Systems Technician I
City of Palm Coast currently has opportunies available in our Utility, Wastewater Department. Under supervision, the purpose of the positions is to perform a wide range of routine labor intensive work in the installation, maintenance and repair of City water and sewer systems, and associated utility lift stations and facilities.

Utility Technician 1
PG 6 $13.9434 - $15.5702


Employees in this classification function at entry level, and are accountable for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the assigned lift stations and various facilities.  Routine tasks are performed with some independence, and more difficult work is performed under direct supervision. Objective is to maintain utility systems and facilitate safe and efficient transporting of water/wastewater throughout the City.  HS Diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) year experience in public utilities or other large scale commercial plumbing systems, and the ability to operate heavy equipment and tools of the trade; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.  General construction experience may be considered.  Prefers candidates that have experience in Wastewater. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida driver's license.

Utility System Technician II
PG 8 $15.50 - $17.2617


Employees in this classification function at journey level, and are accountable for operating, maintaining and performing minor repairs and the installations to the utility system and equipment.  Position is distinguished from that of the Utility Systems Technician I, by the level of independence the employee functions in, as a result of the advanced laboring knowledge acquired through training and work experience.  Objective is to maintain utility systems and facilitate safe and efficient transporting of water/wastewater throughout the City.  HS Diploma or GED; supplemented by two (2) years of experience in public utilities or other large scale commercial plumbing systems, basic electrical knowledge and the ability to operate heavy equipment and tools of the trade; or an equivalent combination of education.  Where applicable, must possess and maintain a valid Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License and a FDEP Level III License in water distribution OR FWPCOA Class B certification in Wastewater collection.

PREFERS CANDIDATES THAT HAVE EXPERIENCE IN WASTEWATER.

Position will repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes and various rotating equipment of all sizes and types; with proper equipment, must be able to test motors for continuity. High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by one (1) year responsible experience in public utilities or other large scale commercial pumping systems, motors and electrical equipment or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required. Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver's license with the ability to obtain a class "B" commercial driver's license and tank truck endorsement within six (6) months. Must be available for emergency call back and rotating call duty.

Firefighter - Paramedic
The City of Palm Coast is building an eligibility list for Firefighter/Paramedic. 

The employee performs highly responsible work involving the prevention and suppression of fires, emergency medical services work.  The employee is responsible for responding to emergency situations and assisting in the control and resolution of the situation.  The employee works within the scope of established Fire Department rules, regulations and procedures, however, is expected to exercise considerable judgment and initiative in emergency situations.  Objective is to prevent and minimize injury and/or the loss of life and property in emergency and fire situations.   This full-time position requires a HS Diploma or GED.   Must possess Florida State Firefighters Minimum Standards certificate, Florida certification as Paramedic EMT-P preferred, (CPR) certificate,  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate preferred, Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certificate preferred, Pediatric Emergencies for Pre Hospital Providers (PEP) certificate and a valid State of Florida Driver's License.
