Utility Systems Operator I

Under supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform diagnostic and equipment control operations to regulate collection, treatment, dispersal and disposal of wastewater in the City's Utilities Wastewater Department according to the area of assignment. Employees in this classification function at entry level, and are responsible for performing routine inspection, greasing and maintenance duties, collecting and interpreting data, collecting samples, ensuring efficient and effective operation of Wastewater facilities and equipment.  Experience with data entry, basic electric, plumbing and equipment maintenance prefered.  Must possess and maintain a Wastewater Treatment, Level C Operator Certification issued by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.  Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.

Public Works Manager
The City of Palm Coast Public Works Department is made up of five (5) divisions; Streets, Drainage, Parks, Facilities, and Fleet and approximately 100 (one-hundred) employees.  Under executive direction, the purpose of the position is to administer program management to include oversight of various Public Works projects and processes.  The selected employee shall perform at middle management level, and will oversee all administrative aspects of the Public Works Department as well as management of the following divisions:  fleet, facilities and administration. The ideal candidate will identify and implement streamlined processes and procedures across all divisions as well as assume responsibility for assisting the Department Director with the planning, organization and management of departmental activities.  This position has considerable responsibility in the development and management of departmental data collection, review systems and performance measures.  Employee works with a high degree of independence and initiative.  Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field, to include five (5) years progressively responsible experience. Tennis Instructor

Under general supervision of the tennis professional, the purpose of the position is to provide Tennis instruction at the City's public Tennis facilities.  Responsible for assigned tennis activities that may include: Tennis instruction, social activities, intra-club leagues, GVTL teams and special events.   High School Diploma or GED; supplemented by one (2) year instruction experience, and a demonstrated ability to perform the administrative support and coordinating requirements of the position; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain a current CPR, First Aid, AED, Program and Lesson Certifications. USPTA Certified Preferred.   Must possess a valid Florida Driver's license.

Plans Examiner
Under direction, the purpose of the position is to review and analyze construction plans and specifications for permitted construction projects, to include structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and engineering construction of residential, commercial and multi-family construction for compliance of appropriate building codes regulating building construction, alterations and repairs. Essential functions include reviewing various records, plans, specifications, and documentation relating to plans review for residential, commercial and multi-family construction for conformance with the Florida Building Code, and other national and local codes and ordinances.

Applicant must possess and maintain a Standard Certificate as a plans examiner with single and double endorsement in trade of choice to include building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and one and two family dwelling, as approved by the Building Official, issued by the Florida Building Code Administration and Inspection Board as well as previous experience in the completion of plans examining.  Associate's Degree with major course work in engineering or architecture and five (5) yrs. exp. as a contractor or superintendent of construction; or an equivalent combination of training and experience required.  Prefers candidates with (7) yrs. exp.  Must possess or obtain, a valid Florida Driver's License.

Landscape Architect
Under general direction, the purpose of this position is to understand and administer land use regulations, codes and ordinances relating to landscape/irrigation and tree preservation for the planning and development of the City.  Work involves review of site plans, tree surveys, and landscape/irrigation plans to determine their compliance with City and other applicable regulations. Landscape and irrigation design and implementation of City capital improvement projects. Duties include landscape and irrigation design, field reviews, inspections, code compliance and overseeing the installation of trees and plants. Position works closely with outside design professionals, landscape contractors and other City staff members.  A Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or related field is required, Registered Landscape Architect preferred.  Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License
