Recreation Supervisor
The purpose of the position is to perform responsible administrative and professional work in the planning, organization and management of assigned recreation activities, services, facilities, tournaments and special events. This position also has considerable responsibility in recommending and overseeing the upkeep, upgrade, construction and/or renovation of assigned facilities, as needed. This position is to assist and direct patrons/users of parks and recreation facilities; enforce rules and regulations of the City of Palm Coast and the Palm Coast Parks and Recreation Department. Increase, monitor, and regulate tournament play. Create and implement programs and activities for Adult sports, and Teens. Position reports to the Parks and Recreations Superintendent or his/her designee. 

This full-time position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Leisure Services, Recreation, Public Administration, Health, and Physical Education or related field; 5 yrs progressively responsible, post graduate experience in administration & operation of a community recreation facility, valid FL DL, CPR, First Aid cert, and AED certification.

Professional Cert (CPRP) by National Recreation and Park Association, PREFERRED.

The employee performs highly responsible work involving the prevention and suppression of fires, emergency medical services work.  The employee is responsible for responding to emergency situations and assisting in the control and resolution of the situation.  The employee works within the scope of established Fire Department rules, regulations and procedures, however, is expected to exercise considerable judgment and initiative in emergency situations.  Objective is to prevent and minimize injury and/or the loss of life and property in emergency and fire situations.   This full-time position requires a HS Diploma or GED.   Must possess Florida State Firefighters Minimum Standards certificate, Florida certification as Paramedic EMT-P preferred, (CPR) certificate,  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate preferred, Pre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certificate preferred, Pediatric Emergencies for Pre Hospital Providers (PEP) certificate and a valid State of Florida Driver's License.

Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to ensure the safety of patrons at the City's public swimming facility. Employees in this classification perform at entry staff level and are responsible for monitoring various swimming activities as well as assisting with special functions. Employee assists in maintaining pool and surrounding facility area. Objective is to ensure safety and general welfare of the general public engaging in all swimming activities through guarding and instructing patrons. Current enrollment in High School or GED program required, High School Diploma or GED from accredited school PREFERRED; supplemented by a demonstrated ability to perform the physical requirements of the position; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess and maintain current American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard Certification, CPR and First Aid Certification, AED for the professional and must demonstrate the ability to swim 200 yards freestyle in under three (3) minutes; Water Safety Instructor Certification (WSI) Preferred.
