The City of Palm Coast Public Works Department is made up of five (5) divisions; Streets, Drainage, Parks, Facilities, and Fleet and approximately 100 (one-hundred) employees. Under executive direction, the purpose of the position is to administer program management to include oversight of various Public Works projects and processes. The selected employee shall perform at middle management level, and will oversee all administrative aspects of the Public Works Department as well as management of the following divisions: fleet, facilities and administration. The ideal candidate will identify and implement streamlined processes and procedures across all divisions as well as assume responsibility for assisting the Department Director with the planning, organization and management of departmental activities. This position has considerable responsibility in the development and management of departmental data collection, review systems and performance measures. Employee works with a high degree of independence and initiative. Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field, to include five (5) years progressively responsible experience. Previous public works, engineering or other municipal experience is preferred.
