SPECIAL NOTICE - AGN EXPANSION APPROVED
The Department of Housing and Urban Development has been approved the City's expansion of the Area of Greatest Need (AGN). The expansion area encompasses the area south of Whiteview Parkway and North of Royal Palms Parkway, bordered by US Highway 1 on the west and Interstate 95 on the east. You can find a map of the area under Program Documents below.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) targeted the City of Palm Coast for federal grant funding through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The City has been granted $1.4 million of federal funding to purchase and renovate homes in a targeted area of the City (generally portions of R and P Sections) that have been foreclosed and are bank-owned.
For example, a family of four, with an annual income less than $70,200 or an individual earning less than $49,150 could qualify for up to $30,000 of financial assistance to purchase a home and an additional $15,000 towards the rehabilitation of that home. In addition, in order to qualify for this program, applicants must be credit worthy and undergo housing counseling.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development established the Neighborhood Stabilization Program to award funds to States, Counties and Cities based on the number of foreclosures and mortgage defaults in a community.
