City Of Palm Coast Update Of The Comprehensive Plan
The City has kicked-off the process to update the City's Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan is a state-mandated and approved document that serves as a guide for communities to use in reviewing proposed projects and development. Any proposed development must be consistent with the goals, objectives, and policies of the Comprehensive Plan.
As part of the process to update the Comprehensive Plan, the City of Palm Coast is organizing a series of workshops that will serve as a forum for residents to communicate and provide input about the issues to be addressed in the update. Dates and time, and other information on these meetings are found on this webpage.
After the completion of the neighborhood and citywide workshops, staff will draft what is known as the Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR). This document will be reviewed by the state Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and is essentially a report card on the progress the City has made in implementing their comprehensive plan and how effective the comprehensive plan has been in promoting the vision of the community. Additionally, the EAR will identify changes that should be made to the Comprehensive Plan.
Your participation in these workshops is crucial to the success of this process. Please plan to attend your neighborhood workshop and participate in updating our Comprehensive Plan. If you have any questions, you may contact Jose Papa at 986-2469 or by e-mail at jpapa@palmcoastgov.com.
