Records Management

The City Clerk's Office is the custodian of the official city records. Pursuant to State Statutes, municipal records are open to the public and may be purchased from the office of the City Clerk at a cost as established by Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes. Chapter 119 also provides for an additional charge if the nature or volume of the records requested requires extensive research or assistance by the City Clerk's staff. While we prefer to receive requests for copies of public records in writing, all requests will be filled regardless of how they are received.
Public Records Request
In January 2005, the City Clerk's Office implemented an Electronic Records Management System (ERMS). During the first six months, we started small, just scanning City Clerk and Building Permit documents into the system. In the Summer of 2006, we made the ERMS available on our City website, allowing the general public to search for public records. Currently, the majority of City departments have scanned their records into this system. Except for those records protected by State Statute, these records are available on our website.
