JOIN THE PINK ARMY 5K RUN FOR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

Army soldiers traditionally march to a challenge. On October 14th Pink Army supporters will take things a step quicker, running/walking a 5K race to heighten breast cancer awareness.

The City of Palm Coast, partnering with Florida Hospital Flagler, will host the Pink Army 5K Run through Central Park at Town Center at 3:00 p.m. beginning in the park entrance. The run course will loop to the hospital and back where triumphant runners will celebrate at an awards ceremony followed by dinner hosted by Woody's Bar-B-Q. Prizes will be awarded for male and female top overall times and for winners in fifteen age categories, from 14-80+.

Runners can register online at www.palmcoastgov.com/pinkarmy5k, in person at the Community Center (305 Palm Coast Pkwy NE) or City Offices (160 Cypress Point Pkwy), through mail or at the race at 1:30 p.m. in Central Park. Early fees are $30, including goody bags, shirts and dinner at Woody's. Proceeds from the Pink Army Run will provide mammograms and diagnostic studies for qualified uninsured women seeking assistance. Individual donations can be made by visiting www.PinkArmyRun.com.

Make a difference in educating women about pre-screening options for detecting breast cancer and join your community for this great energetic run. Information is available at www.palmcoastgov.com/pinkarmy5k or call Lisa Gardner at 386-986-2341.
